Veterans Day Events Near Gregg Ranch

Oct 17, 2022

On November 11 of each year we celebrate and honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. The holiday was originally called Armistice Day and fell on Nov. 11 because that is the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. However, in 1954, the holiday name was changed to Veterans Day to recognize all veterans in all wars. Texas patriotism runs deep and true. At Gregg Ranch and in Marble Falls, we’re so grateful to honor and recognize those who have sacrificed and continue to sacrifice for our precious freedoms.

Here’s a few events and organizations close to Gregg Ranch marking this important occasion.

Veterans Day Hike at Inks Lake SP

Spend some time in nature on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, to reflect upon the heroism of those who died in our country’s service. This is a MODERATE hike, not a beginner hike, organized by the San Antonio Hill Country Hikers, who will meet at 9 a.m. and hit the trail by 9:10 a.m. Allow for travel and check in at Inks Lake State Park. Bring enough water to last through a four-hour hike. They will take a break for lunch and bring a swimsuit if you want to swim after the hike.

Marble Falls VFW

Our local VFW is a great place to start if looking to support and reach out to our valued local veterans. They were gracious enough to support our Gregg Ranch Grand Opening activities last year and any donation of time, talents or funds to our Marble Falls VFW is incredibly appreciated. Reach out through their local
Facebook Page or call (830) 693-2261.

Please remember to honor and recognize our veterans on Nov. 11 and throughout the year in whatever way you choose!
