Marble Falls Independent School District’s Spring Break runs from March 14 to 21 and we think it’s the perfect excuse for parents to play hooky for a day and join their kids for some local spring break adventures. Luckily, Marble Falls and the surrounding Highland Lakes area has countless activities for the whole family to enjoy. Check out our nine favorite options below and all just a few minutes from us here in Gregg Ranch, about an hour outside of Austin.
As one of the premier adventure areas in Texas, this park is home to some of the biggest trails you can find for dirt bikes, ATV, UTV and 4×4 riding. For retirees looking to bring out their wild side, this is the choice for you! There are also camping and rental options available.

The Falls on the Colorado Museum
Currently housed in an old university building that Marble Falls founder Adam Rankin Johnson helped build in 1891, the museum is nearly 6,000 square feet. It proudly displays artifacts from prehistoric era to modern relevant events.

Kayaking and canoeing in the Highland Lakes
Kayaking and canoeing in the Highland Lakes are great solo activities, or they can be fun for the whole family. Choose from several rental companies and river guides, depending on which waterway you want to explore.

Spend a relaxing day fishing at any of the Highland Lakes. Inexperienced anglers or those wanting to land a trophy fish can hire a fishing guide to help you navigate the best fishing spots.
