Local Construction and Engineering Firms Chosen for Gregg Ranch
Jul 8, 2020
Real estate and development company Harvard Investments, developer of Gregg Ranch, is partnering with local firms to complete the 240-acre master-planned community in Marble Falls. Two are from Marble Falls – Ross Construction, Inc. which serves as construction general contractor, and K.C. Engineering, Inc. which serves as the engineering firm on the city’s first new large-scale residential development in three decades. Additionally, C3 Development LLC. of Austin acts as the local construction manager for Harvard Investments.
“It was important for us to partner with local firms that could fulfill our vision of creating a community that compliments what Marble Falls already exemplifies and build on its reputation as a great Texas small town focused of inclusivity, connectedness and community,” said Chris Cacheris, senior vice president of Harvard Investments. “We’re grateful to be part of this area’s growth, and have the opportunity to work alongside firms of their caliber and commitment.”
Robert C. Nolen, project manager and Ned Ross, owner of Ross Construction, are the bridge connecting the developer’s needs with the builders, assuring the project stays on track and all parties are well served. Entrusted by Harvard Investments to manage the myriad of time- and cost-sensitive details, Nolen and Ross keep an eye on the big picture and take great pride in being part of a project that is one of the bigger developments they’ve seen in Marble Falls. Both Nolen and Ross grew up in Marble Falls.
“It is a privilege to partner with Harvard Investments and help grow my hometown,” said Nolen. “They are very experienced, with extraordinary vision and an appreciation for what makes Marble Falls special. They aim to preserve our culture, while providing more homes to people already working in Marble Falls, or wanting to move here.”
Gregg Ranch is anticipated to be home to approximately 700 single-family and 250 multi-family residences. Its first builder, Pulte Homes, anticipates beginning pre-sales this summer on approximately 100 homes.
Harvard Investment’s local construction manager is Nathan Neese of C3 Development in Austin. Neese acts on behalf of Harvard, collaborating onsite with Ross Construction on project management as well as interface with design consultants and the City of Marble Falls. Neese has facilitated the planning and development of thousands of lots in more than 20 communities in the Central Texas area. He has more than 17 years of industry experience including on-the-ground project development and management, as well as the design and construction of infrastructure, signage and project amenities.
“Working alongside local Austin-area firms, especially those that grew up around and understand how special Marble Falls is, makes a big difference in this project,” shared Nathan Neese of C3 Development. “For them this is much more than a job, it is a chance to build up and enhance their hometown. The pride of ownership comes through in every decision made, every solution sought and keeps us focused on long-term thinking as we remember the work we do now can positively benefit future neighbors for generations.”
Gregg Ranch’s Engineering Firm, K.C. Engineering, Inc. (KCE) is also located in Marble Falls. KCE focuses on civil engineering designs for a variety of subdivisions and site developments, as well as state, county, and municipal infrastructure design. KCE has extensive experience in the design of highway projects, streets, subdivisions, site plans, drainage and water quality improvements, water lines and wastewater lines, serving clients ranging from the TxDOT Austin and Fort Worth Districts, to the cities of Marble Falls, Burnet, Fredericksburg and San Angelo.
- Martin Stary, P.E. of KCE, who grew up in the area and graduated from Marble Falls ISD, shared, “In addition to their commitment to enhancing Marble Falls, Harvard Investments really understands the technical side of their projects, and what the builders need to provide to potential homebuyers. They have been incredible partners and we’re privileged to be part of Gregg Ranch.”
Construction at Gregg Ranch continues and the team is moving forward on the community’s infrastructure including finalizing water and wastewater lines within the community as well as the interior drainage system, storm sewers and rough cutting Phase 1 interior roads. Ross Construction continues horizontal construction preparation and Pulte Homes anticipates they will begin building their models as soon as the infrastructure is complete.
- Phase 1 is anticipated to include 100 Pulte homes. These will be one- and two-story single-family, detached homes with lot sizes of 50 x 120 and 70 x 120.
- Phase 1 amenities are anticipated to include walking trails, a sport and play field, and a park with ramada, barbecue grill and kids play area.
Nolen concluded, “Harvard Investments has taken the time to focus on what their customer wants, and as a team, we’re focused on both vision and detail; creating something unforgettable for builders and homebuyers at Gregg Ranch.”
At completion, Gregg Ranch is anticipated to feature a central community area with an outdoor pool, ramada, barbecue area, play area, bocce ball, horseshoe pits, miles of jogging and biking trails throughout the community and a dog park. The community is conveniently located at Routes 281 and 71, a short drive to major shopping, medical needs, charming downtown Marble Falls shops and restaurants, Lake Marble Falls, Lake LBJ and the famed Texas Lakes and Hill Country.
