First Day of School Signs

Jul 20, 2020

Celebrating and documenting milestones is an important parenting ritual. Children and grandchildren often groan when asked to pose for another adorable shot, but when they’re able to look back and see how much they’ve grown, those groans will change to grins.

Whether in-person, virtual or home-school, we love the idea of documenting the first day of school with a fun chalkboard or sign detailing their age or the grade they’re beginning. For a new twist on the chalkboard idea, I picked up these candy dishes at a local thrift store for $1.00.

I spray painted them with a gray primer and then sprayed them with a chalkboard paint. Then use chalkboard pens you can buy at local craft stores to add important details. The best part is you can reuse these for parties or events. Easy, affordable and adorable!
