Fantastic Field Trip: Sweet Berry Farm in Marble Falls

Feb 23, 2023

Fresh strawberry and flower picking, pony rides, goat feeding and more! There’s something for everyone at Sweet Berry Farm in Marble Falls, Texas.

Sweet Berry Farm, a short drive from Gregg Ranch, is the perfect place for a fun family outing, birthday groups (they offer great packages) or even youth groups. You’ll want to schedule your visit during spring and fall harvest seasons.

Never the same, activities will change depending on the growing season—it’s a “pick your own strawberries” farm in the spring, plus a pumpkin patch and a four-acre field maze shaped like the state of Texas each fall! After the spring season, they close down for the summer to get ready for pumpkins in October. We did hear that this year they’re planting sunflowers that are expected to be ready in June for the ‘Year of the Sunflower.’

Strawberry Fields activities are March through May. For the latest seasonal activities visit the Fresh News section of their website.

Spring flower picking includes beautiful Iris, Ranunculus, Allium and Tulips (in March) with about 250,000 tulip bulbs planted yearly. Unique activities include sand art, paint-a-pot, barrel train and the berry bounce.

The best time to arrive at the farm is between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. The closer you can get to ‘opening’ hour, the fewer the folks and the largest supply of ripe berries.  Thursday is the best day of the week to come (they are closed on Wednesdays).

During rainy days, you might want to bring rain boots to get to the really good berries.

The farm is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., and open Sundays 1-5 p.m. (CLOSED All Wednesdays)

There are plenty of picnic tables, so bring a lunch! For big events, they recommend bringing a wagon to transport coolers and food as they cannot allow vehicles to drive to the picnic area.
