Best Places to See and Buy Art Near Marble Falls

Small towns in the Hill Country are renowned for their creativity. And Marble Falls has a well-earned reputation for incorporating art into everyday life. Sculptors from around the country are invited to install a piece of their work on the city’s Main Street, with new sculptures rotating in and out during the year.

 

Additionally, local artists have a variety of markets to sell their work in or around Marble Falls. The area has long been a magnet for artists who find inspiration and opportunity along the banks of the scenic Colorado River.

Highland Lakes Creative Arts

The historic downtown Marble Falls area features Sculpture On Main, a collection of artwork first mounted in 2007. The display represents the best of artists from around the region. In addition to the rotating sculpture exhibit, mosaic pieces created and donated by Father Jairo Lopez, longtime Marble Falls priest and artist, are displayed in and around the Marble Falls Visitor Center.

 

New public art is installed each fall and the annual Paint the Town will be held in April 2022.

Birdie’s Market

Birdie’s is a family-owned and run business located in the heart of Marble Falls. The origin of the name comes from a former mayor of Marble Falls who resided at Liberty Hall, Ophelia “Birdie” Harwood. She is famously known as the first female mayor in the United States before women even had the right to vote.

 

The original shop, “Birdie’s Front Porch,” opened in 1993. You’ll find a wide variety of art created by local artisans, with limited-run, local makers items, decor and home accessories as well as design services and partnerships with custom furniture makers.

Third Street Treasures

Connected to our favorite spot for desserts, Third Street Treasures is full of seasonal decor and unique gifts. You’ll love the jewelry, accessories and one-of-a-kind gift items. Something for everyone! Also features custom made wreaths and floral arrangements.

Highland Arts Guild

The Highland Arts Guild and Gallery features the work of more than 60 local artists who have created original art in pastels, oils, watercolor, acrylic, charcoal, pencil, mixed media and sculpture. The Guild contributes to the community by providing activities for both seniors and children, as well as sharing original art with the public.

Ao5 Gallery

Not far from Marble Falls, Ao5 Gallery is Austin’s largest contemporary art gallery with a wide selection of accessible fine art. There’s always something new to see and experience along with multiple artists’ receptions and event each month. The gallery has hosted one of the world’s largest collections of The Secret Art of Dr. Seuss for over two decades, with authorized limited-edition reproductions of Dr. Seuss’s original art, specially chosen by his wife, Audrey Geisel, and the estate curator. Also features the work of Jermaine Rogers, an artist and designer who first achieved wide notoriety in the field of modern rock art, plus other artists.

Austin Art Garage features talented emerging artists and offers art enthusiasts an opportunity to invest in art created within their community.
