Affordable Summer Activities for Kids/Teens in and Around Marble Falls

If you are in search of great summer activities for children and teens this summer, Marble Falls is the place to be. We found numerous opportunities for young people to explore personal interests, meet other kids and enjoy time away from school. Below is a list of our favorite classes and events offering crafts, athletics, swimming, kayaking and more.
It’s the inaugural year of Backbone Adventure Camp, a 10-week summer camp program for Marble Falls children ages 5 to 12 years old, from June 6 to August 12. Campers are signed up by the week, with camp lasting from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Lakeside Park Pavilion. Kids will enjoy field trips, swimming at Lakeside Park Pool, crafts, gaga ball, visits to Johnson Park, and other activities.

Cost: $100 residents, $130 non-residents.
Is your child a fish in the water? Sign them up for the Lakeside Park swim team, The Current! The Current Swim Team practices Tuesday through Friday mornings, May 10 to July 31, and is geared for children ages 5 to 18.
Location: Lakeside Park Swimming Pool 305 Buena Vista Drive, about 6 miles from Gregg Ranch.
Cost: $105 for the entire session
Future Olympic athletes will enjoy the Marble Falls Youth Track and Field Program. Athletic coaches assist youth in running, jumping and throwing. Practices will be Monday through Wednesday mornings at various locations for ages 5-8 years and 9-18 years.

Marble Falls Summer Concert Series
The Summer 2022 Marble Falls Summer Concert Series looks fantastic! Your family can hear artists such as Rick Trevino, Bidi Bidi Banda (Selena cover band), Gary P. Nunn, and more. More information at the link above.

Spend a night with the stars! On June 4, at 8:30 p.m., Austin Astronomical Society will be at Inks Lake to share their amazing, high-powered telescopes and knowledge with your family.

Intro to Kayaking
On July 11, there’s an introduction to kayaking for ages 13-113 at Muleshoe Bend Recreation area. Instructors lead discussions on boat parts and safety with instruction on paddling techniques, mid-lake re-entry, and planning considerations. $35 includes rental. Discount on 24-hour rental after completion of class.

Burnet County Area Fair
Save the dates of June 17-18 to attend all the amazing activities at Burnet County Area Fair, including exhibits, motorcycle shows, an ice cream crank-off and lots of delicious food. Sponsors include Texas A&M Agrilife Extension of Burnet County, Highland Lakes Master Gardener Association, the Texas Extension Education Association of Burnet County, the Highland Lakes Quilt Guild, and the Bluebonnet Button Club.
Location: Burnet County AgriLife Extension Auditorium, Quest Gym and Pavillion, 607 N. Vandeveer St., Burnet, about 20 miles from Gregg Ranch.
Cost: Free admission, but various vendors and food have separate costs.
