Top Mountain Biking Trails in Marble Falls

Getting out on the trails can be daunting especially when living in a new area. Thankfully the Texas Hill Country is full of amazing mountain biking trails that run along scenic views of the various lakes. Marble Falls, home to new master-planned community Gregg Ranch, boasts a plethora of mountain biking trail options. We have gathered information about our favorite local mountain biking trails which will suit the need of mountain bikers of all skill levels.

 

Backbone Creek Hike and Bike Trail

Backbone Creek Hike and Bike Trail runs through Marble Falls. The trail is approximately 1.3 miles in length and it runs along the Backbone Creek from Lakeside Park to Westside Park. The surface of this beautiful trail is 10 feet wide with a mixture of asphalt and granite. Along the trail you can take in the breathtaking waterfall at Andrea’s Pass, scenic views at Madolyn’s crossing and potentially see a variety of wildlife like squirrels, armadillos, turkeys and several species of bird.

Whitman Branch Hike and Bike Trail

Whitman Branch Hike and Bike Trail is a seven foot wide concrete trail that runs through Marble Falls, starting at the Johnson trailhead to Childers trailhead. This trail is perfect for biking, walking, running and sight-seeing. Stop along the way to watch a local sporting event at the Childers ballfields or venture into the historic downtown area of Marble Falls.

Reveille Peak Ranch

Reveille Peak Ranch is dedicated to providing spaces for mountain bikers and trail runners with thrilling tracks of all skill levels. They offer a single track, endurance track, super D, pump track and a flow track. Each of their trails is equipped with a high-tech material that allows the tracks to be ready at all times, even right after rain. Bike rentals are not available, so come prepared with your own equipment.

Muleshoe Bend Recreation Area

Muleshoe Bend Recreation Area spans more than 654 acres and has 9.8 miles of expansive trails. Experience scenic views of the impressive lake while on your ride. If you want to maximize your time at Muleshoe, overnight camping is available.

Grelle Recreation Area 

Grelle Recreation Area is a 276-acre park located on the south shore of Lake Travis with a beautiful isolated cove. Travel through seven miles of charming wooded trails by mountain biking, hiking or horseback riding. This area has campgrounds available for an extended stay.

Spider Mountain Bike Park

Spider Mountain Bike park is Texas’ first, and only, lift-served mountain bike park that operates year-round. The park features nine gravity trails ranging in various skill levels from beginner to expert which will lead you back to the base lift. If you want to make this a family excursion there are other features for family members to enjoy like a walk around the lake or spending time hanging out at the lodge. Bike rentals are available.

Located in charming Marble Falls, Texas this 240-acre master-planned community is northwest of Austin and is anticipated to be home to approximately 700 single-family and 250 multi-family residences. A central community area with an outdoor pool, ramada, barbecue area, shaded play area and bocce ball and horseshoe pits are planned.
